Dr. Diana Salzmann: Your Body’s Mechanic
Chiropractic: Chiropractic care is available to ensure the maintenance of proper body mechanics. Whether you are an athlete wanting to move to the next level, recovering from injury, or attempting to get in shape for the first time, insuring proper joint function is critical to achieving your goals. Dr. Diana Salzmann utilizes her training in sports injury and extremity adjusting as well as 23 years of practice experience to customize a safe program to optimum fitness.
Dr. Salzmann created Epiphany Health Studio to address the major cause of patient’s requiring chiropractic care: our bodies aren’t made for the lives we are living. We were not made to sit in front of a computer screen for six hours a day. Our bodies weren’t created to sit in front of a television while consuming empty-calorie packed junk food. We were designed to move, to bend, and to stretch.
To get from where we are to where we want to be requires a master plan and a strategy. Dr. Salzmann and her certified yoga and fitness instructors will design a program specifically to move you safely along the path to feeling great and leading life to its fullest.
Diana Salzmann Biography
Dr. Diana Salzmann is a graduate of the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, and taught motion palpation, extremity and sports injuries adjusting at Life Chiropractic College. For 24 years, Dr. Salzmann has practiced in the Atlanta area.
During that time, she came to the realization that most of her clients suffer from preventable ailments. The common denominator causing people to seek chiropractic care (other than trauma caused by accidents) is pain and suffering caused by a general a lack of fitness. Instead of treating the symptoms, Dr. Salzmann wanted to address the underlying cause of most of her clients’ pain and suffering.
A lifelong believer in the benefits of physical fitness (Jack LaLane has been her hero since she was 6), Dr. Salzmann recommended stretching and exercise for her patients, but knew they needed more. To truly help people avoid pain and reduced physical activity levels, she would need to help them develop strength and flexibility. Though already an expert in the mechanics of the human body, Dr. Salzmann knew she needed to go back to school to learn how to train her clients to become fit.
Having managed a gym while in college, Dr. Salzmann knew that strength training is critical, but that most people lack the knowledge to lift weights correctly, resulting in serious injuries over time. She enrolled in the International Sports Sciences Association program and is now an ISSA certified fitness trainer.
But it was Dr. Salzmann’s discovery of the benefits of Pilates that solidified her plans to create a health studio. Developed by Joseph Pilates, this physical fitness discipline focuses on building the foundational muscles of the abdomen and lower back. After her first Pilates class, Dr. Salzmann realized that this exercise focused on the critical, core muscles needed to prevent most of the back injuries she saw in her clients. She immediately signed up for courses and received the extensive training necessary to become certified in Pilates Rehabilitation and Allegro Pilates.
With all the tools in hand, Dr. Salzmann needed one more thing: a place to put them all together. When she walked into the storefront space at 22 Mill Street in the historic Marietta Square, she new she had found the home for Epiphany Health Studio.
